FLY ASH VACUUM SYSTEM
Allen-Sherman-Hoff® Vacuum System designs include equipment to cleanly and safely transport the fly ash from your precipitator or bag house hoppers to your storage silo. Within the limits of conveying capacities and distances, vacuum conveying typically provides the lowest initial cost for a fly ash system.
Depending on the application, there are various material handling valves to choose. These valves which are installed under the hopper and direct the flow of ash into the branch-line, are easy to maintain and provide long wear-life. Our ASHvac® segregating valve is key to providing the proper isolation between branch lines. Other key components of the A-S-H Vacuum System include our Collector to remove ash from the conveying stream, the Airlock valve to aid in the continuous transfer of ash into the silo without system interruption, the large concrete or steel Silo to store the ash, and Pugmill to properly condition the ash for clean and efficient transport.
DILUTE PHASE PRESSURE SYSTEM
Allen-Sherman-Hoff® Dilute Phase Pressure System designs go the distance to cleanly and safely convey your material from your hoppers to the silo. Our easy-to-maintain equipment can handle the transport of significant quantities of material to the silo. Because we are transporting more material, the feeding device at each pickup point is larger, requiring more headroom under each hopper than a conventional vacuum system.
Key components of our unique dilute phase pressure system design include: Airlocks installed under each hopper to regulate the efficient flow of ash into the pipeline, Equalizer valves to properly pressurize the airlock chambers, ASHCOLITE® Pipe and Fittings to meet the distance requirements from your hoppers to the silo, and the Pugmill to properly condition the ash for clean and efficient transport.
FLY ASH VACUUM/PRESSURE SYSTEM
When the combination fly ash system designs are the most economical application for your plant, Allen-Sherman-Hoff® offers our Fly Ash Vacuum/Pressure System. Our dual type of system includes material handling valves at the collection point like our vacuum system and components to transport material over long distances. In this type of system there is an intermediate vacuum/pressure transfer station to store material from the vacuum line. The material is then fed into a pressure line to the silo.
Key components for the Vacuum/Pressure System include: material handling valves selected specifically for your application, installed under the hopper to direct the flow of ash into the branch-line, the Collector to separate the ash, the Airlock to aid in the continuous transfer of ash from the ash transfer bin, Equalizer valves to properly equalize the airlock chambers, ASHCOLITE® Pipe and Fittings to meet the distance requirements from your hoppers to the silo, and the Pugmill to properly condition the ash for clean and efficient transport.
Allen-Sherman-Hoff® offers dense phase ash handling system designs using either pulse flow or plug flow technology. Our dense phase type system is a single or multiple pipeline design for easier, less expensive installation, routing and support. With Pulse Flow transport you can transport nearly any type of ash or granular material. Intermittent plugs of high-density material are conveyed through the pipeline to the receiving silo. With Plug Flow, fluidized and permeable materials are best suited for this application. The material is extruded into the pipeline from the pressure vessel as one continuous stream.
Key components of the DenseASH™ System include the ASHseal™ valve to direct the flow of material from the collection hopper into the transport pot for conveying, transport pot to hold material to be conveyed, special pipe and fittings to meet your system distance requirements, and a custom-designed PLC-based control system with optional interface to owner's DSC system to properly operate your system.
DRY MECHANICAL CONVEYOR SYSTEM
Allen-Sherman-Hoff designs and supplies economical and reliable Dry Mechanical Ash Conveyor Systems to continuously collect and convey dry ash from coal, wood and refuse fired boilers.
Depending on the ash and application, A-S-H offers single or double strand type conveyors, selecting the right chain and flighter arrangements to efficiently transport material. In addition to mechanical conveyors, A-S-H also supplies cut-off gates, expansion joints, and rotary feeders or dump valves to provide a complete air and dust tight system.
A-S-H's Mechanical Conveyors can be installed horizontally or at an incline to meet site and discharge requirements. The systems can be designed to discharge the ash into a wet ash conveyor, dry bottom ash conveyor, silo or surge bins for unloading into a truck.
OIL SOOT HANDLING SYSTEM
For plants that need to convey oil soot from boiler dust hoppers, Allen-Sherman-Hoff designs the right type of Oil Soot system for your specific application. Our system's Air Eductor functions by pneumatically conveying small amounts of material from the boiler dust hoppers to the boiler furnace for re-burning or to a storage silo.
Key components of this type of system are the oil soot hopper to collect material, Air Eductor to move the material through the system, Knifegate Valve to direct the flow of material from the hopper into the pipeline, and the ASHCOLITE® pipe and fittings to meet the distance from the hopper to the boiler or the silo.
